Fishing for the Lord

Commitment. Endurance. Diligence. Exertion. Risk.

Fishing is hard, humbling, day-by-day work.

Trust. Our efforts to love and serve the Lord and each other provide life-giving nourishment for our families, our communities, and our world.

As [Jesus] passed by the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting their nets into the sea; they were fishermen. Jesus said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Then they abandoned their nets and followed him. Mark 1:16-18

    Hey Mary,

I wanted to stop by and of course read your post, but to also thank you for the prayers. Within three days I was out of bed and doing chores again, with no symptoms at all! I have had this since Thanksgiving and lost twenty pounds. Med’s were not working and it was really getting rough to say the least. I have been to Mass three times since Thanksgiving and as my friends always say, “I know when you miss Mass, you are sick.”

Thank you so much and I am so grateful for your prayers and that God answered them. Love and God Bless, SR

Again thank you so much as without your prayers I do not know what I would have done. As I told my husband, “I am headed for the hospital or grave.” It was bad, Mary. Thank you and thank God for the answering of your prayers. God Bless, SR
