Untie the bonds of fear

So Jesus said to them, “Untie him and let him go.” John 11:44

The Spirit of God dwells in us to guide us on the way to life and freedom. The way is mercy, humility, trust in God’s will, and faith in the power of love and compassion. We have the power within us to choose life and be freed from all that hinders us from claiming our birthright as beloved children of God.

Today I will ask the Spirit of God in me to remove the stones that close me off from love. I will ask the Spirit to help me untie the bonds of fear, indifference, and low self-esteem that prevent me from revealing my true nature of love and goodness in the world.

Free to Love

Thus says the Lord God: I will put my spirit in you that you may live. Ezekiel 37:14

We live with the spirit of God’s open-handed, unconditional love in us to guide us with every decision, every word, every impulse to kindness, generosity, and compassion.

Lord, untie me from the bonds of self-centeredness and self-pity. Let your spirit speak and act through me today that I may be free to be fully alive.

Turn towards the light

Ralph Stackpole (1885-1973)
Worship, 1915

Since he has turned away from all the sins that he has committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. Ezekiel 18:28

It’s never too late to turn from resentment, hostility, indifference, self-righteousness, divisiveness, racism…

Today is the day I will turn towards the light of forgiveness, kindness, compassion,  generosity, unity, and respect for all members of our human family.

Lord, give me the courage to follow your Way of life.
