The wisdom of love

The love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us. Romans 5:5

God’s love and wisdom pours into us with each inhalation. With each exhalation, we turn our whole self over to the care of the community of love that is the Holy Trinity.

Today I will sit quietly and notice my breathing. I will practice awareness of God’s presence with each in-breath and surrender into the creativity, wisdom, and love of God with each out-breath.

Forsake foolishness

Watch carefully how you live, not as foolish persons but as wise, making the most of the opportunity, because the days are evil.
Therefore, do not continue in ignorance, but try to understand what is the will of the Lord. Ephesians 5:15-17

Jesus teaches that it is God’s will that I love my neighbor as myself, forgive those who hurt me, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, welcome the stranger. If I ignore Jesus and refuse to feed on his word and example, I am indeed foolish.

Today I will ask the Holy Spirit to fill me the wisdom and courage to embody God’s will of love and humble service.

Heart-energy

João Cautela
Lighting from the Heart, 2011
“With all the lights in the world turning off, I’m hoping the ones in our hearts keep lighting forever…”

Thus says the wisdom of God: “I found delight in the human race.” Proverbs 8:31

Let us dare to step into the heart-energy of the unity of the Holy Trinity.

Then will we know God’s love heals everything, especially the dis-ease that continues to divide our world.

Then will we understand the importance of our practice of respect, courtesy, kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and peace.

Then will we find delight in our family, friends, and neighbors.

Lord, you have poured your love into our hearts. May I delight in your gift of love and recognize it in all people everywhere.
